Week 1 – Day 4

Dear Friend,

I know the correct term is “powerful life”, but I want us to really look at what that means. With all that is going on in this day and age, we need power. We need our prayers, our confessions and our actions to be filled with God’s power. Essentially we need things to change for the better because we are Christians. God actually promised us just that, but we have heard the scripture so much that we have desensitized ourselves to it and removed all the power from it. It is time to challenge your thinking to search a bit deeper and see all that is available to us as His children.
Read the famous John 3:16.

John 3:16 (NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

This scripture is about so much more than heaven. If it were simply to get to heaven, why wouldn’t God just take everyone right after they received Him? Think about it, everyone will exist forever in the afterlife (heaven or hell) so the key isn’t the word “everlasting”. This scripture is about more than longevity; it is about “LIFE”.

Check it out in the Message Bible.

John 3:16 (MSG)
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

John 3:16 is about winning here on earth! It is about living a life that Jesus Christ died for us to have, not being destroyed by what the enemy and this world brings against us every day.

Now read John 10:10.

John 10:10 (NKJV)
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

LIFE! We need to redefine “life” for ourselves. What does an abundant life look like for you? If you are reading this journal you probably see abundant life as peace, a quietness from the battle of fear and a strength from God that restores your joy. When I was walking out my victory God had me take one of my journals and write exactly what I saw my life like when the fear was gone. It was only about four things, but they meant so much to me. What does freedom look like for you? (Take a moment and journal your thoughts.)

Now read it in the Amplified.

John 10:10 (AMP)
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

Jesus actually came to this earth so that you could have and enjoy your life! Fear robs joy and peace so it is illegal in the life of the believer. You have a promise that Christ came in the powerful love of God to make sure you had a right to live an enjoyable abundant life.
Life belongs to you, my friend. No one can ever take that away from you, it is a completed work by Jesus Christ. Those items you listed, that freedom you envision; God hears you and it belongs to you. He came so that you might have LIFE and have it more abundantly!

Love,
Jen

Journal:

What does your abundant life mean to you? What does a day without fear, dread and frustration look like in your abundant life story? Write the vision. Be specific. One day you will come back to these notes and marvel at all God has done.

Power-filled freedom is a reality for you. You never have to live in survival-mode again. It is YOUR time to truly LIVE in Him!
